Minecraft’s Latest Snapshot Adds Chat Reports

Minecraft is a game you should play with your friends. Sometimes you will all be working together to create something amazing, other times you will be using mods to recreate Eldenring, and other times you'll just be browsing servers online to see what else is out there. Sometimes things can get messy when you play online with strangers. That is what the latest Minecraft snapshot aims to address.

The Minecraft snapshot 22W24A has arrived. It's moving towards 1.19.1 with a few bug fixes, two new features, and a few bug fixes. Chat reporting is the main feature. This allows you to report abusive messages being sent in game chat. The blog states that "any reports made during testing periods may not be processed," but that it is important to recognize that toxic players are an integral part any online game. This could be a good step.

Chat reporting is available in the social interactions screen. You will need to report individual chat messages and choose a category. This is likely to prevent abuse of the system. You cannot create a generic report about a player. You must specify what they did. The blog states that your report will be reviewed by a moderation team. It's impossible to know what constitutes a real and actionable report yet, but it's worth learning all about it.

The other major change is that you can now duplicate the amazing Minecraft allay. This can be done by giving them an amethyst-shard. However, duplication has a 2.5-minute cooling down. This should alleviate any worries about how many allay mobs are there. Plus, there's always more of a cute thing, right?

We are huge fans of the Mario Kart mod for Minecraft. It adds the karts you love to Minecraft, but also includes some cool aquatic features.
